Suchi Kyoko:
I make collages, pasting things together. I use scissors, so the edges are sharp and the shapes that emerge are clear. I reject ambiguity. I look for gaps where I can slip into paintings that have no grey areas.
Hayashi Mai:
My motifs are casual everyday scenes. The layers of whipped oil paint are a mixture of chance and necessity, and I can't control everything, but I paint as if I'm having a dialogue with them.
